Why Jacob Take Over The
Two Sons Of Joseph
The angels
of God came to Jacob, revealed and explained to him about the birth of Joseph.
The angels wanted Rachel to bear one child, Joseph only. But because of the
efforts of Rachel, and her insistence, God allowed her to bear Benjamin also.
Son of man,
whenever God says what should be done, let the children of God do exactly what
God says. Let them not add any extra or change what God said.
When the
angels told Jacob, that Rachel shall bear one child only, he fell to the
ground, pleading for more children. The angels told Jacob that Joseph belonged
to God. Jacob accepted this, and asked for another child in place of Joseph, as
belonging to himself Jacob. The angels accepted, but said, “Rachel shall bear
you a son, as your own child, but she will not live to take care of the child.”
They asked Jacob to do prayers, which Jacob and Rachel did.
Rachel said
the prayers for twelve days, and Benjamin was born after twelve years. The
twelve days and twelve years covers the twelve Zodiac Signs as a separation
between what belongs to God (Joseph), and what belongs to man (Benjamin).
Rachel died at the birth of Benjamin, because she was not destined to be the
mother of another child.
Jacob did
not want to lose the two sons of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh. In blessing the
two sons, Jacob crossed his hands, as a sign to show that he was taking the two
sons, in place of Joseph, and to show that blessings, favours, success and
prosperity depend on obedience to the will of God Almighty. As Joseph had no
sons, as his own, even so Jesus shall have no wife and sons.
On the day
Jacob took the two sons, he said to Joseph, “Right from the time you were born,
you belonged to God. Today, I take these two sons as my own children.”
Son of man, that is why Ephraim and Manasseh are always counted
among the children of Jacob. And that was why later Holy Moses assigned lands
to Ephraim and Manasseh, but did not give land inheritance to the other
grandsons of Jacob. Son of man, the number of the sons of Jacob shall always be
written as fourteen, 14; and not as twelve, 12.
